Overview

The Portland Transit Mall is the spine of downtown transit — a thirteen-block corridor on 5th and 6th Avenues where buses, MAX light rail, bicycles, and pedestrians share carefully choreographed space. Raimore's scope on the Mall reconstruction included sidewalks, curb ramps, station platforms, and the historic brick and paver restoration that defines the corridor's character.

The work happened in the heart of one of Portland's busiest commercial districts, requiring detailed public-protection plans to keep storefronts open and pedestrians safe throughout construction. Despite the complexity, our team completed the work two weeks ahead of schedule and under budget — and the quality of the masonry restoration earned the project the Brick Institute Gold Award, recognizing it among the finest brick-paving installations in the country.
