Overview

The Interstate MAX Yellow Line was TriMet's first major CM/GC right-of-way project and a watershed moment for the region's transit construction industry. Running 5.8 miles from the Rose Quarter through North Portland to the Expo Center, the project introduced light rail to neighborhoods that had long been underserved by transit — and it did so while pioneering a new model for community-based contracting.

Raimore's participation on this project established the foundation for nearly everything we've built since. The CM/GC delivery model demanded close collaboration between owner, designer, and contractor through preconstruction — and the corridor's location in active right-of-way required careful coordination with Union Pacific Railroad, ODOT, and the surrounding North Portland communities. The DBE participation framework developed here has shaped major corridor projects across the region for two decades.
